About Us

Farm life:
Wake up and go outside to tend to the animals. Everyone needs food and water and to be let out. Normally it is still dark when we are doing this as we both have full time jobs as well. Hobby farms are not for the faint of heart. Its a full time job in itself. After everyone is taken care of its off to work. Only to come home and repeat itself. Thankfully there are several good and fun things about running a farm. How about the farm fresh eggs? The long horse back rides? The baby ducks and chicks in the spring? The peace and quiet of the county? All of that contributes to our farm.
Yes it is hard work but good things never come easy...

I LOVE Mirkwood Farm...hatching eggs with my students is something I look forward to each year, and I couldn't even imagine going anywhere else for eggs! They just make everything so easy! Taylor is friendly, helpful, always willing to answer our questions, and best of all, she loves our cute little feathery babies as much as we do. Looking forward to working with Mirkwood Farm again soon! - Jenny M.
If you are thinking of hatching some birds, Mirkwood Farms is the place to get your eggs! I have been using them for years to help with my classroom incubation. They are so wonderful to take the hatchlings back — always a joy to do business with them. - Noelle N.
We have been hatching chicks with fertilized eggs from here for our classroom for years and always end up with sweet, adorable chickens. And if there is a problem or question, we just ask and our beloved ‘chick lady’ offers answers, suggestions or support. Highly recommend this lovely, local farmer!! - Lisa H.
